Karate’s Melisa Turia has won gold in the women’s 50KG division, adding another scratch to Team PNG’s gold medal tally at the South Pacific Games in Noumea. She proved too skilful for her New Caledonian opponent taking the honours. Unfortunately, Melisa’s win is the only news from karate we have heard so far.
In boxing, veteran pugilist Jack Willie is set to fight for gold tomorrow night at the Salle Omnisports Complex. He has been tipped as the gold favourite. Four other boxers; Junior Kauka, Tony Toliman, Tom Boga and Andrew Opugu have also qualified for the semi-finals.
