Pinch and punch, it’s the first day of September and our boxers did exceptionally well in the SP Games last night. The ageless Jack Willie progressed into the finals proving too good for Solomon pugilist Paul Kawa with the referee stopping the figth in the second round. Young ENB boxer, Tony Toliman, in his debut, also proved too strong for his opponent, Daniel Wonum of Vanuatu. Another debutant, Junior Raka Kauko, also knocked down Julius Duvu of Vanuatu three times before the referee stopped the bout.
We can expect more from the team when Noel Aisa, Moses Ririan, Peter Michael and Andrew Opugu step into the ring for their quarter final bouts today.
